“I am deeply grateful for your ongoing support. As we prepare to face challenges in the next decade, I am excited to announce the development of Final Fantasy 14,” said game director Naoki Yoshida in an accompanying video. He went on say that the game had been “specifically tailored” for mobile. “Despite these adjustments, Lightspeed Studios is working with tremendous enthusiasm and dedication to faithfully recreate the story, duties, battle content and other aspects of the original game,” he continued.

In the main game, players can choose from 22 different roles but the mobile version will launch with just nine, according to a dedicated website

“Intense and thrilling battles are just one part of your journey. In your spare time, you can wander over to the Gold Saucer for some chocobo racing and the Triple Triad card game. Customise your own cozy home, take part in various festive seasonal events, or express yourself with an array of outfits and glamours for your Warrior Of Light. The first release of the mobile game introduces 11 crafting and gathering classes, allowing you to experience a different pace of Eorzea; cast your line as a master fisher, become an adept miner, alchemist, and more.”

A release date for Final Fantasy 14 Mobile has yet to be announced but a number of playtests are set to take place in China “soon”. A global launch will follow soon after. “I hope both current Final Fantasy 14 players and those who are interested in exploring its story will look forward to what’s coming next,” added Yoshida.

In other news, One Pokémon TCG Pocket player has spent £1200 to complete their collection. “It was worth it to me. For future packs I will only be collecting the base set though.”
