The Boys actor Antony Starr has described the final season of the show as “bigger” and “deeper” in a new interview.

Speaking to Variety alongside showrunner Erik Kripke, the actor gave an insight into what fans can expect to see from the show’s final season and his character Homelander.
Revealing a little of what fans can expect from season five, he explained: “I’ve read into the season slightly, and it not only is bigger, but it’s deeper.”
He continued: “The more Homelander gets what he wants, the less happy he is. And that really frustrates him. You can expect a real ratcheting up of stakes and emotion, and ‘The Boys’ really have their work cut out for them.”
He also opened up about his creative work with Kripke and discussed how they work together on set. He added: “Eric’s always been very open about any ideas that I’ve had, anything I want to add, subtract. I come in with an idea, he knocks it back or explains why there is something the way it is. It’s a pretty organic interchange. We just kick ideas around. It’s just a great, positive, creative experience.”
Kripke was similarly effusive and added that Starr was a “thrill to watch”. He continued: “One of the things that I love about his fearlessness as an actor is he’ll throw himself into a scene not knowing what Homelander’s going to do. And because he doesn’t know, the audience doesn’t know. One of the reasons Homelander is such an unexpected character is because literally Homelander doesn’t know what he’s going to do next.”
Meanwhile, back in October, a real-life pop-up version of Vought-a-Burger, the diner featured in The Boys opened in Los Angeles.
The fast-food establishment featured food on the menu including a ‘Big Homie’ burger, ‘Golden Godolkin’ nuggets, the ‘Seven Tower’ burger, ‘Homelander’s Freedom Fries’ and more, as well as programming, merchandise and Easter eggs from the series.
“Well well, real life Vought A Burger opening next month in LA,” read a post on the show’s official Instagram account. “Hit the link in our story if ya want to put a Big Homie Burger in yer mouth. Hughie and Butcher will not be there because… well, one of them is in Vought captivity and one is driving around with a deadly supe virus.”
Back in September, the creators of the show also mocked Donald Trump‘s reaction to his debate with Kamala Harris.
In an Instagram post on the Vought International account, which was originally set up as a marketing tool for the Amazon Prime Video series, a picture of the character Homelander at a packed rally is on show.
Alongside it is a caption, which uses language similar to Trump, in a subtle dig at the next US president in waiting.
Elsewhere, The Boys actress Valorie Curry recently appealed to fans to “respect boundaries” after having a “deeply uncomfortable” encounter during a Comic Con event in Northern Ireland.
