Swiss Duo Veil of Light Return With Their Video for “A Confession” — Plus Announce New Album “Hymns of Faith And Trust”

Why save it for later? I’d rather tell you tonight

Why do I hide under bright sunny day light

A confession to make

It’s not the body It’s the mind

Emotional and physical intimacy—how fierce, how delicate the bond, the pull of yearning held in a trembling hand. There lies a struggle, an endless tug between the heart’s hunger for closeness and the skin’s strange hesitancy, recoiling just as much as it reaches. In this fragile dance, words become sanctuary, the only solace. Words, tender as a whisper in the dark, offer a warmth that hands cannot quite hold. The soul seeks understanding in fragments, a trust that builds slow as dawn. The hope is there—quiet, gentle, and yet, like the touch it craves, ever elusive, ever complex.

Switzerland’s Veil of Light steps forward with their adorable fresh single, A Confession, featuring Belia Winnewisser, as a precursor to their forthcoming album, Hymns of Faith and Trust, slated for release on February 14, 2025, through Young & Cold Records. Available in black vinyl, Digipack CD, and digital formats, this track glistens with a buoyant, New Wave spirit reminiscent of mid-80s staples like New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, and Thompson Twins.

The song dances through the tangled emotions of intimacy—a push-and-pull between yearning for closeness and feeling a strange unease with touch. It speaks to the comfort found in sincere words, words that heal and hold. Beneath the melody’s brightness lies a longing for understanding, a search for trust, a hope to discover common ground amid the contradictions of human connection, as hearts wade through the deep waters of vulnerability and connection.

The self-directed video shows the duo hard at work in a bucolic studio, creating their latest masterpiece in a serene, sunny spot. It’s charming and silly, showing their friendship and creative process.
