Continuing his charged return to music-making, London-based rapper Komanii is back with his latest single ‘254’. Combining powerful lyrics with an unforgiving flow, the release is the rapper’s second of the year as he looks set to make waves throughout the industry.
Starting the single with an enticing vocal and piano line, the deep-cut percussion soon takes control of the airwaves. Blending a memorable flow with clever wordplay, ‘254’ makes way for catchy melodies and an unforgettable rhythm. Its pounding percussion cuts deep, leaving no room for doubt, whilst twinkling piano chops punctuate each bar giving it a healthy pop sentiment.
The track pays homage to Komanii’s Kenyan roots as he embodies his humble beginnings throughout this sonic art form. Speaking about the release, he explains, “I wrote and produced this record looking to delve further into the UK hip hop scene drawing inspiration from present-day leaders like Dave, Stormzy, and Central Cee, whilst still making commentary on my Kenyan roots”
Komanii is a rapper and producer based in London, UK. Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya he blends uncompromising storytelling with an authentic spirit throughout his artistry.
