Porter Jinkins: The Unstoppable Force from Far Rockaway

In the heart of Queens, a borough that has birthed some of hip-hop’s most iconic names, an unstoppable force is rising. Meet Porte Jinkins, the Far Rockaway native who has been making waves in the streets of NYC and Atlanta since the tender age of 12. With a background in trapping, rapping, and banging, Porte has seen the worst of it, yet he approaches each day with an unbreakable spirit and a smile on his face.

Porte’s journey into music began as a child, inspired by his older brother Chuck and his late cousin, M-Nice. Their passion and success motivated the young Porte, who was determined to follow in their footsteps. Tragedy struck when Porte lost his cousin at just 15 years old. He found himself in Atlanta, where he began creating music with his brother, who would later establish his own record label, CGE (Chase Gang Entertainment).

Chase Gang was more than just a label – it was a name that represented a tight-knit group of friends from Porte’s hometown. The crew had always referred to themselves as “Chase Gang,” and now that moniker had become a symbol of their collective musical ambitions.

Porte’s talent and dedication have earned him some notable moments in the spotlight. Recently, Bobby Shmurda gave him a shoutout for his song “My Pistol” off his EP “Stand on Business.” In 2019, Porte opened for Dave East, King Combs, and Jadakiss at a major venue in New Jersey, a testament to his growing reputation. He has also shared the stage with Don Q in 2018 and Casanova in 2019, and has performed at shows with Drewski from Hot 97 and DJ Superstar Jay. One of the most memorable experiences was when Huncho walked out to Porte’s hit song “My Pistol” during his tour – a moment made possible by Porte’s brother, DJ CKAA, who has been Huncho’s main DJ since high school.

Despite the highlights, Porte’s journey has been far from easy. As an independent artist, he faces the constant challenge of financing his music and marketing himself. While he receives some support from his brother’s label, the bulk of the workload falls on his shoulders. Securing features from other artists has proven particularly difficult, with issues ranging from poor business practices to having to remove tracks and replace them due to falling outs with collaborators.

The industry is fraught with scams, and Porte has fallen victim to one himself. He was robbed of $800 by someone pretending to be YFN Lucci, a scam that was even more brazen given that the imposter contacted Porte using a phone number listed on Lucci’s official bio and page.

Through it all, Porte remains true to himself and his art. He writes his own music, drawing on his real-life experiences to craft authentic, relatable lyrics. His determination and resilience have allowed him to overcome the obstacles in his path, and he continues to push forward, driven by his passion for his craft.

As Porte navigates the complexities of the music industry, he remains firmly rooted in his Chase Gang mentality. The name is more than just a label – it’s a reminder of where he came from, and a symbol of the unbreakable bond he shares with his brothers. Together, they are making their mark on the world, one track at a time.

Porte Jinkins is a one-of-a-kind talent, and his story is only just beginning. With his unwavering dedication and raw, unbridled energy, he is sure to leave an indelible mark on the hip-hop landscape. The world would do well to take notice of this unstoppable force from Far Rockaway, because Porte is here to stay.
