David Tennant and Alex Hassell make up the ensemble cast in Disney+ series Rivals.
Based on the novel by Jilly Cooper, the period drama follows the rivalry between Rupert Campbell-Black (Hassell) and Lord Tony Baddingham (Tennant) in the cutthroat, raunchy world of independent television in 1986.

Other members of the cast include Aidan Turner, Victoria Smurfit, Bella Maclean, Catriona Chandler, Lisa McGrillis, Nafessa Williams, Katherine Parkinson, Oliver Chris, Emily Atack, Danny Dyer, and Luke Pasqualino.
All eight episodes in the series were released on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK on October 18, 2024.
Who composed the soundtrack for Rivals?
The show features an original score by Natalie Holt and Jack Halama, who previously worked together on 2020 film Kindred. Holt’s previous credits include Loki and Obi-Wan Kenobi, while Halama provided the music for Netflix’s Who Is Erin Carter.
