Boobie Hondo Overcoming Adversity, Building a Movement

After a tumultuous period of personal loss and isolation, Boobie Hondo, also known as Greatness, is making waves once again with his new single “S.O.B (Standing on Business)” featuring Tae The God. Representing Champaign, Illinois, Boobie Hondo’s music is not only a creative outlet but a declaration of resilience and strength. “It’s a reminder to everyone who has a hard time standing up for who they are or what they believe in, to STAND ON BUSINESS,” he explains about the new track, which mixes powerful wordplay with a motivational message. Boobie Hondo’s journey back to music wasn’t easy. Following the death of his father in 2020, he considered giving up on his craft entirely. However, the support of his family and loved ones, particularly his children, mother, and grandmother, helped pull him through. Now, Boobie Hondo stands more confident in his vision and artistic direction, with his latest single serving as proof of his growth. His time away from the industry wasn’t wasted. Boobie Hondo dedicated himself to refining his style, digging deeper into his emotions, and perfecting his delivery. “Since my last track, I’ve grown both technically and creatively,” he says. His evolved sound is accompanied by more deliberate production choices that reflect the mood and messages he wants to convey. He’s also experimenting with new vibes while maintaining the core elements of his identity as an artist. In the coming year, Boobie Hondo is laser-focused on expanding his fan base and making a lasting impact in the hip-hop community. He’s aiming to perform more live shows, collaborate with both local and rising artists, and drop his first full-length project. His vision is clear: to create music that connects with people on a deep level, offering them stories they can relate to and lessons they can take away. Along with his current project, Boobie Hondo is working on the second installment of *Loretta’s Boys* with his brother Rio, and has features with K30rrddyy, LA The Prince, Kitco, and Justo Moe in the pipeline. In his future collaborations, he dreams of teaming up with some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Kendrick Lamar, Larry June, and Wiz Khalifa. Through all the challenges, Boobie Hondo remains steadfast in his purpose, believing in the movement he is building. As he prepares for the release of his EP *In My Bag* and focuses on releasing more visuals, his promise to his fans is simple yet powerful: “Stay with me, and let’s make this movement something unforgettable.” Boobie Hondo isn’t just back—he’s here to make an indelible mark on the industry.
