Big Hit Music first announced the upcoming album earlier this week, shortly after the singer released the full version of his 2021 song ‘Super Tuna’. ‘Happy’ will make Jin the seventh and final member of BTS to release a solo album.

The singer made his solo debut in late 2022 with ‘The Astronaut’, which was co-written by Coldplay, shortly before he enlistined for mandatory military service. Jin was officially discharged from service in June.

Last month, Jin spoke to Weverse Magazine and shared that he was working on his debut album. “[The BTS members] all finished making their own albums before enlisting,” he said. “That made me think I better not wait too long to release mine, so I’m working to get it done fast.”

Last month, BTS leader RM released the single ‘Neva Play’ with Megan Thee Stallion. It marked the second time they worked together, after the rapper featured on a remix of BTS’ hit single ‘Butter’ in 2022.
