Jack Quaid fans are pointing out he doesn’t share dad Dennis’ love of Donald Trump

Fans of Jack Quaid have mocked his father Dennis after he backed Donald Trump and pointed out The Boys star doesn’t hold the same political stance.

The former recently endorsed US Vice President Kamala Harris, despite his father appearing at Trump’s rally at Coachella yesterday (October 13).

During his speech, Quaid said: “Are we going to be a nation of law and order? Or wide open borders? Which is it? Because it’s time to pick a side.”

The actor, who recently portrayed former US President Ronald Reagan in Sean McNamara’s biopic, Reagan, released in the US earlier this year, drew comparisons between the current political landscape and that of Reagan’s first election victory.

“It’s amazing how the issues of the 1980 election are very similar to what they are today,” he said.

“We were a nation in decline. That’s what they told us. Ronald Reagan came along and said, no, we’re not a nation in decline. We’re going there. And we followed him. The same with Trump, with President Trump. My favourite president of the 21st century.”

Many fans of Quaid’s son, were quick to point out the political differences between the two while mocking the former.

“Well, now that Dennis Quaid has officially shit the bed and gone all-in on MAGA, let’s take the time to appreciate the fact that Jack is his complete polar opposite and a fantastic actor,” wrote one fan.

Another added: “Pretty wild that Dennis Quaid spoke at a Trump rally when his son Jack stars on The Boys, a show about the downfall of America at the hands of a Trump-inspired evil superhero who literally murders people at rallies.”

Meanwhile, one fan reposted Jack Quaid’s endorsement of Harris with the caption: “Yes dad, I agree we do need to pick a side… except you picked the wrong one.”

Elsewhere, Trump’s reaction to his debate with Harris and rallies was recently mocked by the makers of The Boys.

In an Instagram post on the Vought International account, which was originally set up as a marketing tool for the Amazon Prime Video series, a picture of the character Homelander at a packed rally is seen on show.

Alongside it is a caption, which uses language similar to Trump, in a subtle dig at the former US president.

It states: “Contrary to recent ‘reporting’ from the lamestream media, Homelander’s recent rallies have been PACKED with patriots. Here’s a photo from one just yesterday, where he presented a concept of a security plan developed by Sister Sage. As you can see, no one here is leaving!”

Elsewhere, Netflix recently turned down the opportunity to acquire the Trump biopic, The Apprentice, because “they have millions of MAGA subscribers,” director Ali Abbasi claimed.

Sebastian Stan stars as a young Trump in the movie which is due out in UK cinemas this Friday (October 18).

The movie received five stars in NME‘s review, which described it as “one of the most original films of the year”. “A film that twists, and keeps on twisting, until you just don’t know where it’ll go next, it’s a wild, weird and wondrous ride,” the review added.
