Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is facing a lawsuit filed by an unnamed man from Michigan, who claims emotional distress, retaliation, and multiple violations of California labor laws. The plaintiff, referred to as John Doe, was initially hired in December 2022 as a campaign director and later promoted to Yeezy’s director of intelligence. His responsibilities included managing NDAs and conducting investigations into various parties, including the Kardashian family and Ye’s current wife, Bianca Censori.
The lawsuit alleges that Ye instructed Doe to hire private investigators to secretly follow Censori during her solo trips to Australia without her knowledge. The complaint details Ye’s erratic behavior, which reportedly escalated after he began using nitrous oxide and getting titanium dental work. According to Doe’s attorney, Ronald Zambrano, this behavior contributed to a “paranoia and siege mentality” within Ye’s circle.
Doe also claims that after he reported allegations of child abuse at Donda Academy, Ye threatened him with bodily harm and fired him in retaliation. The lawsuit states that Ye yelled at Doe, saying, “You’re f—king dead to me!” and played recordings of threatening voices. Following these threats, Doe experienced severe emotional distress, exacerbating his PTSD.
In addition to emotional distress claims, the lawsuit includes allegations of unpaid wages and violations of labor codes. Doe is seeking over $1 million in damages. This lawsuit adds to the growing list of legal troubles for Ye, which includes accusations from former employees regarding workplace misconduct and other controversies surrounding his private school.
Despite these challenges, Ye is reportedly working on his next solo album titled BULLY, which was announced during a recent listening event in China.
