NYC’s The Amatory Murder Release Ghoulish New Single “Crazy in a Coffin (On A Saturday Night)”

Running through the cemetery

Past tombs of memories.

Of those times that I felt alive

I was the bourgeoisie.

In a world where fear reigns supreme and the past won’t stay buried, one soul runs through the tombstones, chased by memories that refuse to die! Suffocating…and trapped in a grave they helped dig! Is it a dream or a nightmare?

New York’s The Amatory Murder drops Crazy In A Coffin (On A Saturday Night) – just in time for Spooky Season’s shivering shadows. This graveyard growl blends barbed guitars with hooks that bite and lyrics that linger like fog on a moonless night.

The whole thing pulses with the thrill of 21st-century urgency but carries the echo of classic rock’s midnight howl. There’s a bite, a swagger, and a smirk—all wrapped in a grin that knows it’s haunted. Imagine Van Halen, on a dark detour, driving straight into The Damned’s den, with Joe Strummer sketching out the directions in the rearview mirror. The riffs roar and the breakdowns shriek, while Bela Lugosi’s vampiric whisper curls around the track like cold breath on your neck. Crazy In A Coffin (On A Saturday Night)’s fury is practically a séance summoning rock’s restless spirits. The guitars don’t just play; they prowl, they snarl, they claw at the coffin lid.

The Amatory Murder invites you to dance in the darkness, where the riffs are sharp, the beats are relentless, and every scream feels like it’s coming straight from the grave. Because sometimes life itself is the real horror flick.

The Crazy In A Coffin (On A Saturday Night) EP kicks off with L’apertura della bara, a spine-chilling intro narrated by October Noir’s frontman Tom Noir, channeling the eerie echoes of late-night horror flicks from the 1960s and ’70s. It’s a nod to that flickering TV glow, where shadows danced, and dread simmered just beneath the surface. The Amatory Murder then takes a sharp turn with their reinterpretation of David Bowie’s I’m Afraid Of Americans, twisting it into a mirror for these modern times, fraught with paranoia and unease. They inject a jagged edge into Bowie’s classic, lacing it with a contemporary anxiety that snarls at the state of things. The EP is a stark collision of nostalgia and present-day unrest, where the ghosts of past fears and today’s terrors meet under a blood-red sky, haunted by the thump of drums and the hiss of distant synths.
