Swindells, who plays Adam Groff in the Netflix comedy-drama, married his long-time partner Amber Anderson at Boath House in the Scottish Highlands recently. Anderson is a fellow actor, and known for her role as Lady Diana Mitford in Peaky Blinders.

During the service, the couple were joined by Alistair Petrie – who plays Swindells’ on-screen father in Sex Education – who officiated the wedding.

As seen in images shared by British Vogue on Instagram, Petrie is seen standing behind the couple as they exchange their vows. Check it out below.

Swindells and Anderson met while on set together, working on Autumn de Wilde’s adaptation of Emma. From there, they remained friends, before taking the relationship to the next level after COVID-19 lockdown restrictions were lifted.

“We ended up together during the first lockdown. We were both living alone and relatively near each other, so we decided to bubble together. We got to really support each other through that,” Amber told British Vogue.

“Lockdown meant we had time with each other that we wouldn’t have gotten if we’d both been away filming. Our official first date was literally about three months into our relationship when everything opened up again. I feel like we did everything backwards in a strange sort of way.”

According to a report by The Pink News, Swindells proposed to Amber during a trip to Botswana, and popped the question in front of a 1400-year-old baobab tree.

Sex Education returned for a fourth and final season on September 21 last year, and it was warmly received by critics and fans alike.

In a four-star review, NME wrote: “The season finds its warm and witty rhythm when the writers return to their regular M.O. – exploring awkward aspects of sex and sexuality in a unique unselfconscious way.”
