Baird – a career actor with roles in films, TV and video games – once appeared in a minor role in an episode of Friends. Recently, a clip of her on the show has resurfaced, prompting claims on social media that her kids, musicians Billie Eilish and Finneas, are “nepo babies”.

The actor recently featured on a Glamour cover interview with other celebrities’ mothers that includes Tina Knowles, Mandy Teefy and more. When asked about the Friends clip resurfacing, Baird took the opportunity to snub out any claims of nepotism in her kids.

Baird said: “I think it’s hilarious. Because that came out, and it was like, ‘Oh, Billie is a nepo baby.’ And I’m like, ‘Did you know that I got that episode of Friends because I was about to lose my health insurance?’”

She continued: “My husband (Patrick O’Connell) and I are working class actors. We eked out a meager living, and it afforded us a lot of time with our kids, which was awesome. But the industry is primarily people like us or even people not even like us who couldn’t even do that. So when all of this happened to our kids, we’d never been on that side of it. I think that people don’t really understand there’s a whole industry of people who are creative and they’re working and they’re struggling, and they make perfectly happy lives, and they feel creative, and they feel fulfilled. But that’s a very different life than on this side of the door where you’re suddenly playing in this different arena.”

Throughout the course of her career, Baird appeared in films like An Innocent Man, Manic, and lent her voice minor roles in Eragon and Ice Age. In the realm of TV, she acted in shows like Walker, Texas Ranger, Picket Fences, Friends and Charmed. For video games, Baird voiced characters in Saints Row, Final Fantasy and Mass Effect among others.

Billie Eilish recently shared the music video for ‘Birds Of A Feather’. Directed by Aidan Zamiri, the supernatural-inspired video sees Eilish overtaken by invisible forces that drag her across the floor and up the walls.

In other news, she’ll be the musical guest on the October 19 episode of Saturday Night Live, alongside host Michael Keaton, and she also recently endorsed Kamala Harris in the US presidential race.

It also emerged recently that Eilish is now learning to “do home production without” her brother Finneas, who has produced all three of her albums to date.
