At just 32 years old, Trent Whitaker has already made a significant mark on the creative landscape of Southwest Florida. Hailing from Fort Myers, Florida, Trent is the founder of Pixel Perfect Flight, a media company that has quickly gained traction in its first year of operation. With a passion for storytelling through visual content, Trent’s company has helped local businesses create engaging media while also supporting emerging artists in the area.
A Passion for Storytelling
Trent’s inspiration to start Pixel Perfect Flight came from his lifelong fascination with film and a desire to fill a niche in his community. “My parents make short films and I have always been fascinated by movies. I noticed that a lot of businesses in my area had horrible social media presence and I saw a niche I could fill,” he explains. This passion has driven the company’s success, with Trent having already worked with over 60 local businesses and numerous artists in its first year. “It’s not even work to me. It’s genuinely something I love to do. My idea of relaxation is sitting in front of the computer and editing everything that I shot that day. I think that passion translates to everyone that I meet.”
Elevating the Local Music Scene
In addition to his work with businesses, Trent is also dedicated to supporting the local music scene in Fort Myers. “So our music scene has been trash in Fort Myers for lots of years. Just not a lot of local support if you know what I mean? Starting to change recently, though we’ve had a couple local artist organize some events. My buddy Sean Cala is part of this movement called 239 takeover with another local artist named Lotti. They’re starting to get people to notice what we got going on in the city. Rick Ross is showing love on IG so big things are happening,” Trent says. He’s particularly excited about his upcoming projects with local artist Reek, promising that they’ll be doing “some stuff that’s never really been done before in Fort Myers so you guys need to stay tuned for that.”
A Focus on Storytelling and Color
Trent’s projects range from restaurant promotions to music videos, but they’re all united by his focus on storytelling and color. “I think shooting a music video can be done in 1 million different ways but a big part of what I do is color and I think that resonates with people who are tired of too much craziness and too much BS going on. I focus a lot on with the project makes you feel like and what is the story that we’re trying to tell? You know?” He draws inspiration from creators like Cole Bennett from Lyrical Lemonade and Scotty Friedman, the mastermind behind BLP Kosher’s music videos. “Scotty is an absolute beast. And of course Cole brings something to music videos that’s just never existed before. He uses a lot of textures and tell stories literally like no one else.”
A Bright Future Ahead
As for the future of Pixel Perfect Flight, Trent has big ambitions. “I don’t want pixel perfect flight to be put into a box of just marketing or constant creation or even just music videos. Literally anything with a camera we can make happen. Our delivery time is out of this world. Everything I shoot I go straight home and edit. I’m kind of a freaking nature in that sense that I will give you a finish product probably same day if I can. That’s what set us apart. That’s why people call us.” With his passion, creativity, and work ethic, it’s clear that Trent will continue to make a significant impact on the media landscape in Southwest Florida.
Advice for Aspiring Creators
Trent’s advice to aspiring media creators is to “stay true to your vision and never stop learning. The industry is constantly evolving, and it’s important to adapt and innovate. Connect with other creatives, take risks, and don’t be afraid to share your work. Building a network and collaborating with others can lead to amazing opportunities.” As he continues to grow Pixel Perfect Flight, Trent is a shining example of what can be achieved when creativity and entrepreneurship come together.
