Drake has broken a new record, with his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour being confirmed as the highest-grossing hip-hop tour in history.

The reports were first shared on Instagram by Genius, which announced that the Canadian rapper had secured the milestone after selling out each of the 80 shows on his North American run of tour dates.
According to the post, the ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour with J.Cole – which featured guests including 21 Savage, Sexyy Red and Travis Scott – grossed a total of $320.5million (£238.8m).
As well as the total sum, the update also included a breakdown of ticket sales for each of the 39 venues Drizzy played, and confirmed that the run of shows saw him sell 1.3million tickets.
It was confirmed last November – when just 30 of the 72-scheduled shows were in the books – that the ‘Hotline Bling’ rapper had made $129.7million (£96.7m), already overtaking Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Big Steppers’ tour.
The latter began in July 2022 and came in celebration of Lamar’s fifth album ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’. It wrapped up in September after 73 shows, having grossed $110.9million (£82.7m) from 929,000 ticket sales.
This July, Drake’s tour broke another record during his two shows in Washington D.C, when he became the first rapper to earn over $5million (£3.7m) in revenue from a single arena concert in US history (via HipHopDX). The back-to-back shows on July 28 and 29 drew a reported 34,303 attendees, and tickets were averaging at $293.40 (£218.70) each.
The reports about his huge tour come following his epic feud with Kendrick Lamar dominating the hip-hop agenda for several months earlier this year.

Over the course of the saga, the two continuously dropped various diss tracks, and numerous rap luminaries chimed in to share their thoughts, including André 3000, who said it made him feel “a little sad”, and Questlove, who called it “wrestling match level mudslinging and takedown by any means necessary”.
Later, DJ Akademiks, a close confidante of Drake’s, posted that the Toronto rapper had new music “on the way”, and seemed to dismiss rumours that an upcoming single would sample Michael Jackson’s ‘Man In The Mirror’.
Since then, Drake has also dropped 100 gigabytes of data with fans, including three new songs. He also appeared on two songs on the new Camila Cabello album, and announced a new album with PartyNextDoor.
