JTBC’s PROJECT 7 (produced by Studio Slam, SLL), which will be aired for the first time at 8:50 PM on October 18, is a new concept idol audition program that introduces the concept of ‘assembly, reinforcement’, where viewers, rather than just participating as observers through voting, directly select participants from the first round, form a new team, and grow their favorite participants through the process.
The title song ‘달려 (Up to You)’ of PROJECT 7 was pre-released on September 26. ‘Up to You’ is a song that contains the will and passion of trainees running towards their dreams, and the ambiguous meaning that those dreams are in the hands of ‘World Assembler’. The EDM-based beat and ear-catching synth sound create a strange addictiveness, and the participants’ cheers are expected to lead to a refreshing yet powerful mood. Additionally, a performance video with the trainees was released, further building up anticipation for the show.
PROJECT 7 is hosted by popular actor Lee Soo Hyuk and the judges or “directors” are notable artists such as producer Ryan S. Jhun, singers Ha Sungwoon, Lee Haein, dancers Bada and Ryu D. The director lineup of is expected to be active in all directions, from selecting participants with fair and meticulous evaluations and trend-oriented expertise to providing sympathetic customized mentoring.
