The Black Swan, Requiem For A Dream and The Whale director has recently started filming the new movie in Manhattan’s East Village, and the two musicians are set to pick up major roles in the film.
Also in the cast are Austin Butler (Elvis, Dune: Part Two), Zoë Kravitz (The Batman, Blink Twice), Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk, Boyz n the Hood) and Liev Schreiber (The Perfect Couple, Ray Donovan).

The film will tell the story of Hank Thompson, a tired former baseball star who is plunged into a fight for survival in the New York criminal underworld in the 1990s. It is based on the series of books by Charlie Huston.
For Bad Bunny, it is just the latest chapter in his divergence into acting, following on from the news earlier this month that he is also set to join the cast for Netflix‘s Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler. His most high-profile acting job to date is as The Wolf in the 2022 action comedy Bullet Train.
Bunny’s music has also been featuring on some significant private playlists this year too, with his track ‘Perro Negro’ featuring on Barack Obama’s summer 2024 playlist, and ‘Otra Noche en Miami’ made Lionel Messi’s warm-up playlist too.
Bad Bunny released his album ‘Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana’ last year. It scored a four-star review from Lucas Villa for NME, who wrote: “Through his sprawling and ambitious album, Bad Bunny spins the trappings of fame into Latin trap gold, and, as his album title promises, he continues to blaze his own trail with big carpe diem energy.”
Spotify revealed its global data for the annual Spotify Wrapped programme at the end of last year, which saw Bad Bunny secure the second spot for most streamed artist globally, behind frontrunner Taylor Swift. His album, ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’, was also named the most streamed album globally.
Action Bronson, meanwhile, has had fleeting roles in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman in 2019 and the 2020 Judd Apatow comedy The King Of Staten Island, but this will be his largest film role to date.
