Last night, XCX and Sivan brought their co-headlining ‘Sweat’ tour to Madison Square Garden in New York. In past editions of the tour, the two musicians have had a habit of bringing out special guest performers to join them onstage for several songs. For this go around, Addison Rae and Lorde joined Charli and Troye.
Addison Rae arrived onstage first, joining Charli XCX for the remix of ‘Von Dutch’. Rae then performed her own song, ‘Diet Pepsi’ with Charli and Troye beside her.

Later on in the night, Lorde surprised fans in attendance by coming out on stage dressed very similarly to Charli XCX. Together, the two performed their remix of ‘Girl, so confusing’.

The duo gave fans a taste of the tour earlier this year when Charli joined Sivan on stage at his Wembley Stadium gig in June to perform their collaboration ‘1999’. Then, last week, they shared a collaborative remix of ‘Talk Talk’, which sees the track reimagined with vocals by Sivan, and contributions from Dua Lipa, who speaks Spanish and French throughout.
The ‘Sweat’ tour will continue for another month, making stops in Toronto, Phoenix, Los Angeles and more, before wrapping up in Seattle on October 23. Visit here for any remaining tickets.
In a four-star review of ‘Brat’, NME wrote earlier this month: “On the self-described “club record”, XCX offers pure party girl hedonism. Percolating beats, brash synths, left-field production and vocal lines that flit between bratty quips or honest one-liners. With ‘Brat’, XCX demonstrates that going her own way will always sound pretty good,” it added.
In a glowing five-star review of Sivan’s ‘Something To Give Each Other’, NME wrote: “Above all, it’s a strikingly vital pop album charged with love, lust, sweat and regret. You won’t need a bosh of poppers to feel thoroughly intoxicated.”
