Chow Lee recently discussed the rise of sexy drill, a subgenre he helped create alongside Cash Cobain and Lonny Love, in an interview with Billboard on September 23. He explained that the concept emerged naturally during their creative process, focusing on themes related to women while Cobain handled the production. “Cash is the mastermind behind the beats,” Lee noted, describing how they often sample songs from YouTube to craft their tracks.
Cobain played a significant role in Lee’s latest album, SEX DRIVE, which features 19 tracks including popular songs like “swag it!” and “act bad twin!” The album also includes collaborations with artists such as AJ Tracey, Roy Woods, Flo Milli, Sleepy Hallow, Bay Swag, and Anycia. Lee highlighted the collaborative spirit of sexy drill, emphasizing its universal appeal with contributions from artists around the globe, including U.K. rapper AJ Tracey on the track “im not really spiritual!”

Describing the essence of his project, Lee stated that a “slizzy summer” represents a lifestyle focused on enjoying life and celebrating femininity while maintaining personal integrity. He mentioned his intention to keep the content accessible, saying, “I’m trying to keep it PG-13, but it speaks for itself.”
Looking ahead, Lee is set to perform at Rolling Loud Miami on December 13, just a day before Cobain takes the stage. The festival’s 10th anniversary lineup features major headliners like Future, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti.
