Liam Gallagher has hit out at Suede after a fan asked if the band would be supporting Oasis on their 2025 reunion tour.
The formerly estranged Gallagher brothers will perform together for the first time in 16 years next summer, when they hit stadiums across the UK and Ireland. Further dates at Wembley were recently added in response to widespread ticket controversy.

As well as speculating over who’ll be joining Liam and Noel on stage at the huge gigs, fans have been discussing potential support acts – with the likes of Blossoms, Kasabian and Richard Ashcroft among those being mentioned.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Liam was seeking “established acts” to open for Oasis in 2025. The singer also responded to a question from a follower on X/Twitter about the support slots, writing: “most of them are proper zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.”
Now, LG has been asked to share his thoughts on Suede appearing on the line-up for the Oasis Live ’25 shows. “Not happening,” he replied before saying that the group were “too cocky esp[ecially] that singer [Brett Anderson]”.

The frontman did not elaborate on his thoughts, but his grievance likely stems from Andreson’s past comments about Britpop.
In 2019, the latter described the ’90s genre as a “laddish, distasteful, misogynistic, nationalistic cartoon”. He added: “I very quickly distanced Suede from that.” Anderson went on to acknowledge that this “probably” made them “look snobby”.
“I saw what was happening with Britpop and for me, it felt quite distasteful,” he continued. “It felt nationalistic, it felt like there was, sort of, quite a strong thread of misogyny and I didn’t think Suede should be part of that.”
Additionally, Anderson was asked if he had once described Oasis as “the singing plumbers” in the ’90s. “Well you know, I might have said that 25 years ago,” he responded, “but I’m not going to try and justify things I said a long, long time ago.”
Liam later hit back at the remarks Anderson had made in the 2019 interview, writing: “Check this shit out regarding this Britpop nonsense. I hear Burt out of Suede has said it was very laddish.
“See I disagree, I thought it was the opposite – I thought it was very BLOUSEY, which is why I distanced myself from it. LG x.”
He also said at the time that “The Verve pissed all over Suede”, and claimed that the former and Oasis “were on a different cloud” during the Britpop era. “If it wasn’t for Britpop you’d never have heard of Suede,” Liam argued. “That’s my problem a lot of those bands it helped.”
Last week, LG criticised Fontaines D.C. after members Carlos O’Connell and Conor Deegan III said they “couldn’t really give a shit” about Oasis’ comeback. “Fuck them little spunkbubbles I’ve seen better dressed ROADIES,” he tweeted.
The singer went on to say that the Irish band “look like a shit EMF”, adding: “State of ’em.”
However, Fontaines frontman Grian Chatten subsequently made it clear that he didn’t share the same stance as his bandmates. “I love Oasis,” he wrote. “This is not my opinion.”
In other news, Liam has suggested that “there could be a few new faces” performing with Oasis as part of their 2025 reunion concerts.
Oasis have also responded to reports about a possible return to Knebworth in 2026, and shut down speculation surrounding a headline performance at Glastonbury next summer.
Meanwhile, LG has teased that a new Oasis album is “already finished” following rumours and ongoing discussion about the possibility of new music from the Gallaghers.
