Hip Hop Fans React To ASAP Rocky & J. Cole’s “Ruby Rosary” Collab

Ahead of his upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb, A$AP Rocky released a new single titled “Ruby Rosary” on September 6. The track, produced by The Alchemist, features a powerful collaboration with J. Cole.

Rocky opens the song by referencing Rosalía and Jodeci, asserting his influence on a generation of rappers. He delivers bold lines such as, “N**ga want smoke with me, tell him, ‘Push up, Hercules,’” which many interpreted as a nod to Drake’s “Push Ups.” Despite this, Rocky clarified that he has no interest in feuding with the Canadian artist, stating, “I don’t get fresh to death, bitch, I’m buried alive.”

J. Cole takes over the third verse, weaving in references to Michael Jordan and his hometown of Fayetteville. His collaboration with Rocky has sparked mixed reactions, with some fans criticizing him for seemingly aligning with Drake’s rivals. One user remarked, “J. Cole b**ched out the beef,” while another defended his lyrical prowess, saying, “Say what you want about how J. Cole handled that battle, it did not change how well he raps.”

As Rocky gears up for the release of Don’t Be Dumb, expected later this fall after a six-year break, he has previously shared singles like “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n)” and “Tailor Swif,” the latter of which may only be a loose single since it leaked two years ago.

Say what you want about how J.Cole handled that battle, it did not change how well he raps and I’ll be damned if I act like it did.
