As reported by CBR, a YouTube channel named MULTIVERSE OF AI uploaded the trailer 11 days ago. The description states that “All images and voices used in video [are] generated with artificial intelligence.”
The video features AI versions of Will Smith as protagonist CJ, Idris Elba as brother Sean ‘Sweet’ Johnson, and Ving Rhames as the traitorous Melvin ‘Big Smoke’ Harris. There’s also AI versions of Chris Rock as the chronic stoner Lance ‘Ryder’ Wilson, Samuel L. Jackson as the dirty cop Frank Tenpenny, Woody Harrelson as his partner Eddie Pulaski, and Zoe Saldana as CJ and Sweet’s sister, Kendl Johnson.
An AI rendition of Kevin Spacey also appears as undercover agent Mike Toreno. Spacey was found not guilty of sexual assault charges against four men back in July 2023, and in July 2024 he sold a 9,000 square foot property in Baltimore to pay for legal fees.
The entire video consists of AI-generated voice over made to sound like Will Smith introducing characters from the game as AI versions of popular film stars. There’s Michael Peña as rival gang leader and Kendl’s boyfriend Cesar Vialpando, Kevin Hart as convict and rapper Jeffrey ‘OG Loc’ Cross, Michelle Rodriguez as Catalina, and Matthew McConaughey as hippy The Truth.
One commenter on YouTube, KevJSmith, noted that Samuel L. Jackson did actually originally voice Officer Tenpenny in the original GTA: San Andreas. Another, BigBoss-ib6ok, wrote, “Only James Woods can act like James Woods.” Woods voiced Mike Toreno in the original San Andreas, rather than Spacey as chosen for this AI video.
In other news, several games are leaving Xbox Game Pass this month.
