The last assault rifle available in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta is the AMES 85. If you have picked it up, then you would have realised it is incredibly strong, with very little recoil. This makes it a fantastic weapon to choose in multiplayer, and our Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 AMES 85 loadout will help you make the most of it.

In this guide, we will cover the attachments as well as the full class setup. This build is based off of around six hours with the gun, levelling it up across the beta’s maps and modes.
Best ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’ AMES 85 loadout
The best AMES 85 loadout in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta is:
Optic: Volzhskiy Reflex
Barrel: Long Barrel
Underbarrel: Lightweight Foregrip
Rear Grip: Commando Grip
Stock: Heavy Stock
Credit: Activision
The AMES 85 is one of the most consistent weapons in the game right now, and our attachment choices aim to compliment its strengths, while letting you build up kill streaks over and over again.
To kick things off, you will want to clean up the iron sights, as they are rather cluttered. We suggest the Volzhskiy Reflex Optic, a clean optic that offers decent zoom without being over-the-top. It is one of the least bulky red dot sights in the game and our favourite.
Although the accuracy on the AMES 85 is already fantastic, the first thing you want to choose is the Heavy Stock in the Stock slot. This will dramatically improve your flinch resistance, allowing you to stay on target during those long-range, back and forth, one-on-one gunfights. When up close, the Commando Grip in the Rear Grip slot will give you better sprint to fire speed and aim down sight speed, allowing you to hold your own if you are caught off guard.
This attachment is also just great if you are holding down a point trying to get your next kill streak, as if you catch someone from a distance, you can pick them off quicker. Finally, choose the Lightweight Foregrip in the Underbarrel slot. This is the cherry on top of the AMES 85 cake, as it will make you even more accurate, improving your idle sway for when you are aiming down a choke point.
Our last choice for the attachments is the Long Barrel in the Barrel slot. This will improve your damage range slightly, reducing damage falloff at longer ranges, where the AMES 85 can take five, six, or even seven bullets to kill depending on the body parts you hit.
‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’ best AMES 85 class setup
The best class setup for the AMES 85 in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta is:
Pistol: GS45
Melee: Knife
Tactical: Stim Shot
Lethal: Semtex
Field Upgrade: Assault Pack
Perk 1: Flak Jacket
Perk 2: Tracker
Perk 3: Vigilance
Wildcard: Perk Greed: Ghost
Credit: Activision
Alongside your knife, opt for the GS45 as your pistol due to its better reliability, in case you need a backup weapon. In your equipment slot, choose the Stim Shot to heal when you are in a pinch, and chances are someone will find you where you are recovering as Black Ops 6 is so fast-paced, so it can save your life.
The Semtex is our lethal choice, as it is simply the best piece of equipment right now in the lethal slot. The assault pack is our Field Upgrade of choice, as the goal is to go on extended streaks with this weapon, and you will want to get some more bullets, so this is the only choice (at least while Scavenger isn’t available).
Next up, on the perk front, we will be using three blue perks to get the Recon Combat Speciality. This allows you to see enemies through walls for a short time when you respawn, allowing you to plan out your next move. You also don’t leave any skulls on enemy bodies, telling the other team where you are or where you killed someone. Additionally, your HUD will flash slightly if you are being aimed at by an enemy outside of your view.
Use Perk Greed as your Wildcard and choose Ghost, which is a vital perk and arguably one of the best in the game for almost any build thanks to its ability to keep you off the radar. In the Perk 1 slot, opt for Flak Jacket. With explosions being so powerful, this can be a huge lifesaver.
In the Perk 2 Slot, use Tracker. Tracker autopings enemies when you are aiming at them and allows you to see footsteps on the ground from nearby enemies, which is incredibly useful as you roam around the map.
Finally, choose Vigilance in the Perk 3 section. This isn’t the best perk in the third slot, but because we want that Recon Combat Speciality, we have to choose it in the beta for now. It will let you know when you are on an enemy’s radar and remove the effects of counter UAVs and Scramblers for you.
With this build, you should be able to stay on target consistently, build up scorestreaks and do decent damage.
