The new track, which you can listen to below, is set to feature on the former’s forthcoming album new album ‘THE FORCE’, which is set to drop on September 6 via Def Jam Recordings/Virgin Music Group. You can pre-order/pre-save it here.
Eminem co-produced the high tempo song with Q-Tip, which acts as a sequel to ‘Murdergram’ from on COOL J’s 1990 album ‘Mama Said Knock You Out’.
The 14-track project also features the likes of Nas, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Saweetie and more.
COOL J previously shared the single ‘Passion’ from the record and ‘Proclivities’ featuring Saweetie.
‘THE FORCE’ is the rapper’s 14th album and marks his first LP in 11 years.
Although the new track is Eminem and COOL J’ first collaboration, the pair did perform ‘Rock The Bells’ together at the latter’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
Previously speaking to NME on ‘THE FORCE’, COOL J said he wanted to be “an anomaly” and show you can be “able to take that much time off and show people what’s possible”.
“Hip-hop hasn’t seen this kind of story,” he explained.” We’re not really used to artists being able to take 10, 15 years off and then re-emerge with a project and it immediately goes to the next level and has creative impact. We’re kind of used to people either [being] out the whole time and consistently be making music, or they’re gone and that’s it.”
Elsewhere, the rapper previously expressed his disappointment over André 3000‘s recent solo project ‘New Blue Sun’, which is dominated by an ambient flute.
“Let’s not lie to ourselves: I don’t wanna hear him do the flute,” said COOL J. “You wanna hear me do a violin? You might not wanna hear me do shit, but do you wanna hear me do a violin?”
“I wanna hear him get with Big Boi, I want them to make an OutKast [album] or to do a solo album. Every time he does a verse, it’s enough material for an album! He’s so gifted. So it’s like, ‘Come on, B. Not the flute.’ That man needs to know the truth.”
The OutKast rapper responded by reiterating why he is not confident at the moment when it comes to making a full-fledged rap album.
