Yesterday (August 2), the Jazz-pop singer took over the Bud Light stage at the annual Chicagoan music bash. Midway through her set, the ‘Valentine’ singer took a moment to walk on the stage to share that she was going to bring out another performer who had played earlier in the day and was also a fan of jazz music.
“There’s one artist in particular that I saw was playing, and I was like ‘Hey, you like jazz don’t you?’ and she was like ‘Yeah, what are you thinking?’ I was like ‘Do you want to sing with me?’ I am very very excited to announce that I will have RAYE joining me on stage,” Laufey told the crowd, introducing the ‘Escapism’ singer.

The two went on to perform a rendition of Jimmy Van Heusen’s 1943 song ‘It Could Happen To You’. The track was introduced by Dorothy Lamour in the 1944 musical And the Angels Sing and has been covered by the likes of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Art Garfunkel, Robert Palmer, Chet Baker, Miles Davis and more.
Elsewhere in her set, Laufey sang a rendition of Keely Smith’s ‘I Wish You Love’ and opened up about growing up playing classical music and playing the cello and piano and shared “I never ever thought that I’d be able to do this, especially at a festival like Lolla.”
In other Lollapalooza news, Kesha unknowingly used a “real butcher knife” for her performance of ‘Backstabber’ at the music festival yesterday (August 1).
Meanwhile, Hozier live debuted his unreleased track ‘Nobody’s soldier’ and called for a ceasefire in Gaza.
