Pete Davidson has checked into a wellness facility for his mental health, according to PEOPLE.
On Wednesday (July 31) the outlet confirmed that the Saturday Night Live star is taking some time to focus on his health. It comes after comedian recently finished a run of more than 200 live stand-up shows across the US, as well as several film projects and the release of his second Netflix special, Turbo Fonzarelli.
Mental health has “always been a priority” for the comedian, a source told PEOPLE. The King Of Staten Island star has been open about his sobriety journey on his tour, as well as his history of dealing with borderline personality disorder and severe post-traumatic stress disorder.
The source added that Davidson has been focusing on his sobriety this year, and his friends and family are “proud that he has chosen to continue to take care of himself”.
In June 2023, Davidson checked himself into rehab to address issues related to his BPD and PTSD.
At the time, a source told PEOPLE: “Pete will often check himself into rehab to work on these issues. His friends and family have been supportive during this time.”

Speaking to Variety in 2018, Davidson said he’d “been in and out of mental health facilities” since he was a child.
“The last few years have been real rough with me,” he explained. “I took all these mental health classes and really spent a lot of time getting me good.”
In January this year, the comedian and actor revealed that he was high on ketamine when he attended Aretha Franklin‘s funeral.
During his new one-hour-long Netflix special Turbo Fonzerelli (released January 9), the comedian explained (via the Independent): “I was on a drug for the past two and [a] half, three years called Ketamine. What a time.”
He continued: “It’s embarrassing when you’re not on ketamine anymore, though… I’m embarrassed. I was out and about like that. That’s not cool, you know?”
Davidson went on to recall how he was under the influence of the drug “at funerals” during that period. “That’s fucked up, right?” he added.
“I was at Aretha Franklin’s funeral like that. Yeah, I have to live with that. You know what I mean? She’ll never know, but still, that’s not the point. You know what I mean?”
He said: “If she was there, she would probably be like, ‘Hey, who are you? And what the fuck are you doing at my funeral?’ It’s embarrassing. I’m so high, I thought it would be a good idea to go up to her family and go, ‘Hey, I’m just here to pay my R-E-S-P-E-C-T…S’.”
