Born and raised in Freeport Il, hip hop realist, Antonious Colts now resides in the bright city of Atlanta. Growing up he was a devout Christian that held the church in high regard, but as he grew older and the truths of some characteristics that the church held became known, Antonious began to drift further from his spirituality. Struggling with his faith in the church system slowly fading, he found solace in artists like DMX, Tupac, and Scarface. Being a rapper himself that loved music, he was conflicted with expressing himself in fear of being labeled by the church. The legacy of those that influenced him gave him the confidence and hope that music dedicated to God can take root in being fully expressive to his truth. His struggle with fitting into the gospel market was overcame thanks to their inspiration, and Antonious took flight with no turning back.

He was burnt out by all the fake tendencies that had its claws in the backs of Christianity. This motivated his mission, to dedicate his music to be an outlet to speak the real and reach into the souls of those enduring the same hurt and distrust in the system that he once felt. As time progressed, Antonious’ style and sound grew more mature and brought with it a deep sense of purpose and substance. His sound was more than the typical Christian rapper. His style was Street melodic with inspirational undertones within his lyricism. Antonious composes tracks that bring the harsh truths of reality to light, for it is only then that growth and healing can truly find birth.

To date, he has been given praise for his ability to spit depth while still creating a banger than can be vibed to. His achievements are among some notable milestones which include, selling over 75,000 units before the internet came into being and paving the way for other Christian rappers like Lecrae to come up. Since his entrance into the industry, Antonious has been an advocate for true believers to be able to express themselves without the constraints of religion. His undying dedication and popularity have granted him the title as one of the pioneers of modern Christian hip-hop.

His music catalog is among some of the greatest and he has an upcoming single to add to his collection of hits. The track in question is, “L.I.M.E. (Look In My Eyes). The single digs deep into what the Christian faith has become in some parts of the world. While many try to navigate through modern times with better judgement and acceptance, many still hold bias and prejudice towards any sort of imperfection. “L.I.M.E.” tackles the issues with the religious system, acting as a direct expression of how organized religion and church hurt not only affected Antonious, but the thinking of others as well. What was meant to save and bring souls to the light is in turn pushing souls away from their salvation. Antonious is standing up for those without a voice that are experiencing the hurt and conflict he once did through his new single. “L.I.M.E.” is the voice that doesn’t hold back from exposing the thoughts that many fears speaking. It delves into the windows of the soul of every person that has been hurt within the church system and moves with compassion to help them overcome all the same.
