On his podcast on July 18, Joe Budden commented on Cardi’s current trajectory, suggesting that fans might not see another full album from her, stating, “You’ll never get another Cardi album again. That’s what Cardi’s about to be now, a single artist.” His remarks took a controversial turn when he referenced Offset, Cardi’s partner and father of her two children, implying that he might want her to release an album. Budden likened the situation to a boyfriend wanting his partner to find a job, which sparked a strong reaction from Cardi.
Responding via Twitter Spaces, Cardi expressed her frustration with Budden’s comments, questioning why he continues to discuss her. “I’m really sick and tired of you keeping my name in your f**king mouth,” she stated. She accused him of not coming from a genuine place and tearing down her work and personal life.
Cardi’s follow-up to her acclaimed album Invasion of Privacy is expected to drop in 2024, although it has faced multiple delays.
