OTAKON 2024 to Welcome K-pop Artists and Producers PLEA, U-CHAE, Jay Choe, and More


Get ready for an informational experience at OTAKON 2024 with an exciting lineup of K-pop industry experts and artists. As this year marks the 30th anniversary of OTAKON, it is sure to be an action packed event. In addition to the K-pop Showtime dance competition, this year’s guestlist features a mix of talented individuals who have made significant contributions to the world of K-pop. Let’s meet our esteemed guests!

PLEA

Formed in 2023, PLEA is a pop duo consisting of JAYJAY and clovd. In their short yet impactful career, they’ve released catchy and easy-to-listen-to tracks like “Run to You,” “Her Name Is,” and “Stock Market.” Both members are not just performers but also accomplished producers. 

JAYJAY, a seasoned producer for Cube Entertainment and part of the producing group MosPick, has crafted hits for IZ*ONE, TWICE, Stray Kids, NMIXX, and NCT. Clovd, originally debuting with ToppDogg in 2013, has produced for Apink, Loossemble, and Kiss of Life. PLEA will share their music, vision, and creative process at their special industry panels. 


U-Chae

U-Chae, who debuted in 2021 as Dajeong with PIXY, has captivated audiences with her unique performances and hit singles like “Wings.” PIXY’s distinctive concepts and energetic performances have taken them worldwide, including their historic US debut at Otakon 2022. U-Chae has also graced stages at Anime Weekend Atlanta, Kawaii Kon, and two extensive European tours.

Returning to Otakon 2024, U-Chae will offer insights into her life as a K-pop idol and share her plans for the future. Don’t miss her panel with her old colleagues Youngbae and Jay Choe.


Jay Choe

Jay Choe has a multifaceted career spans consulting, concert staffing, songwriting, and PR training. A key figure in debuting PIXY in the US at Otakon 2022, Jay has also facilitated projects with Rolling Quartz and consults for pre-debut and indie artists. He initiated the popular dance choreo VIP sessions, allowing fans to learn directly from artists. 

There is a an opportunity to record a K-pop song in a never done before VIP event. The pass includes a 1 hour session of vocal lesson and 1 hour of song recording. https://www.otakon.com/activities/vip-events/

Hyomin An

Hyomin An, the CEO of ABRIDGE, manages over 200 events annually, including concerts, festivals, and expos. His impressive portfolio includes production for Waterbomb Festival, Ultra Korea, and collaborations with artists like SKY720, PIXY, and 8Turn.

At Otakon 2024, Hyomin will discuss event and concert production, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from his extensive experience. Join him for an insider’s look at the industry’s inner workings.


Jong Hoon Chae

Jong Hoon Chae is a veteran in music publishing, master recording, and licensing. He founded Plum Tree Songs, a company focused on K-Pop, with releases from artists such as SUHO (EXO), CHUNG HA, and Key (SHINee). His previous projects include work with IVE, NCT 127, BTS, IU, and Red Velvet.
