The record, said to be more experimental and melodic compared to the band’s usual heavy metal style, was originally recorded at the same time as their fourth album ‘All Hope Is Gone’ in 2008.

Though the album was supposed to drop during Slipknot’s We Are Not Your Kind tour, it was delayed until 2021 due to the pandemic. Since then, frontman Corey Taylor has teased that the record will be due sometime this year.

Now, Clown has given his own update in a Reddit AMA, when fans asked about the album. In his response, he wrote: “The only reason ‘Look Outside Your Window’ has not come into this reality is because it is a timeless album that allows it to be presented at anytime.

“Up until now things we’ve been doing has been taking priority. It has to come out, I promise it will come out soon.”

NME spoke to Clown last December, where he told us about the status of ‘Look Outside Your Window’: “It’s definitely arriving next year. You have my word. The art’s been done. It’s been mixed. It’s been mastered. It is definitely coming out in 2024 and it’s such a great album. Corey is my favourite singer ever, and you’ll never hear him sing in the same way as on this album, so it’s been worth holding it back. It’s such a different, timeless project.”

He also opened up about the potential for a Slipknot documentary, adding: “I’ve harvested relics from our whole career, I’ve just collected and collected all of it. Let’s call it a documentary, but really it could be a film. I’ve recently signed on with some forces for it and I’m going to get a director too.

“A lot of the footage has already been captured, but there is a lot that still needs to be compiled for it to be what it needs to be,” he continued. “So yes, there’s something like that coming, and there’ll be a DVD which would be behind-the-scenes too. Also footage for the 25-year anniversary, there would likely be a package for that, and there’s going to be a reissue of the album, probably.”

He also teased there would be new music “really soon” on Wednesday (June 26), saying: “Well, one thing I can say is this: There’s always going to be new Slipknot music. But we’ve also said that there is a filter, and we are the filter, and that filter must go through everyone.

“And when I was telling you that we’re doing a lot better communicating, now apply that to communicating about music. I can say that there’s gonna be music sooner than you can imagine, delivered to you in a way you can’t imagine.”

Elsewhere, the late Joey Jordison’s family have shared the very first tribal ‘S’ that he designed for Slipknot.
