Spenser Smith Unveils New EP ‘The Trials and Tribulations: A Seductive Love Story’ and Announces 2024 Album Release

Rising star Spenser Smith, born in Queens and raised in Valley Stream, NY, is making waves in the music industry with his latest EP, The Trials and Tribulations: A Seductive Love Story. Known for his poetic lyricism and captivating production skills, Spenser’s journey in music is a testament to his dedication and passion.

From a young age, Spenser displayed a deep love for music, participating in band classes throughout his school years. His talent for crafting poetry began in the 9th grade, eventually leading him to commit to a career in music in 2013. In 2016, he released his first full-length mixtape, The Lone Start Fatal Beginnings, which garnered mixed reviews but marked the beginning of his professional journey. It was during these sessions that Spenser met his first mentor and producer, Grant Klinger, who emphasized the importance of understanding all facets of the music industry.

In 2018, after careful consideration and a pivotal conversation with his girlfriend, Spenser enrolled in the Music Production Program at Full Sail University. His education led to an internship with the legendary R&B group “The Force MD’s,” where he met his second mentor, Khalil Lundy. Under Lundy’s guidance, Spenser honed his skills as an audio engineer and music producer.

Despite facing obstacles, including wrongful termination from a recording studio in Brooklyn, Spenser used these challenges to fuel his growth as an artist and producer. In 2021, he was offered the position of recording studio manager at “The Force MD’s” studio. During the pandemic, he utilized the time to refine his craft and prepare for his musical comeback.

In 2022, Spenser made a triumphant return with his EP The Foreshadow, featuring collaborations with AnthonyxJohn and Gendi. This project set the stage for his next release, The Trials and Tribulations: A Seductive Love Story, a deeply personal work exploring themes of redemption and acceptance. The EP features guest appearances from TOKA, Mari Niko, and GotoMar$, each bringing a unique vocal quality to the record. With Spenser’s signature self-produced R&B samples and hard-hitting boom bap beats, the project showcases his evolution as an artist.

Spenser’s latest singles, “Who You Laying With (Freestyle)” featuring TOKA, and “FATAL FURY,” have been met with enthusiasm from his growing fanbase. His music, inspired by legends like Notorious B.I.G., JAY-Z, Nas, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Big Pun, MF DOOM, DMX, Drake, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, Tyler the Creator, Kanye West, Michael Jackson, and New Edition, reflects a rich tapestry of influences.

As Spenser prepares for the release of his new album in early 2024, he is also embarking on a new business venture. He is creating a music production studio in his area, providing a space for other creatives to record and produce music.

Spenser Smith’s journey is one of resilience and passion. With his upcoming album and new business venture, he is poised to make a significant impact on the music industry.
