In an interview with BBC Breakfast, Twain admitted she’s been contemplating a grand entrance to the Pyramid Stage this weekend. Twain will be taking to the stage in the festival’s Legends slot this Sunday, (June 30).

Twain told BBC Breakfast: “I’d love to ride a horse to the stage. I love horses. I love animals I’m going to see if there’s a horse around I can borrow.” However, it seems she hadn’t run it by Glasto officials yet, as she added: “I’ll have to find out if it’s allowed.”

An avid equine lover, she’s previously featured horses in on-stage performances, most notably during her 2014 Vegas residency, where she rode a white horse each night to sing her hit single ‘You’re Still the One’.

And it seems Twain has been considering bringing the stunt to Glastonbury for a while, telling BBC Radio 2: “Maybe I could show up on a carriage, you know… a team of horses or something. I’m sure that could be arranged,” back in March.

Twain is set to take to the stage on Sunday June 30 at 3:45pm-5:00pm BST for the coveted Legends slot, which has previously seen performances from likes of Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, Barry Gibb and Lionel Richie.

The gates to Glastonbury are now open, with over 200,000 people heading to the site for a long weekend of music and entertainment, ending Monday (July 1). For those not lucky enough to be attending, performances from headliners Dua Lipa and Coldplay will be streamed globally on BBC.com. You can find the BBC’s full plans for television, radio and online coverage here.

Twain has had her sights set on Glastonbury for a while now, telling NME last year the festival was “on my wish list”. Following the announcement she would be joining the line-up, she spoke of the honour of following in the footsteps of her heroes Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson in taking on the Legends slot, saying: “It’s a wow. A real wow moment in my career. It’s such a one of a kind.”

It’s a busy summer for Twain, who is also due to headline BST Hyde Park 2024 in London the following Sunday (July 7) alongside The Corrs, Anne-Marie, Elle King, Natalie Imbruglia, Nell Mescal and Hannah Grae. You can buy tickets here.
