Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout show borrows heavily from the video game franchise, while telling an original story. That didn’t stop everyone’s favourite four-legged friend Dogmeat from making an appearance in the first season though and, after a brief cameo, it seems another iconic video game character will return for season two.
At the end of the first season of Fallout, a flashback shows a series of investors discussing plans for the various vaults including a representative from RobCo, which is owned by Robert House.
Mr House stars in Fallout: New Vegas and controls part of the civilisation built on the remains of Las Vegas, after surviving a coma.
In a new interview with Variety, showrunner Graham Wagner confirmed that “many of our lead characters are Vegas-bound,” following the events of the first season. “Las Vegas in the world of Fallout is Robert House’s town. Robert House will be involved in Season 2,” he added.
Prime Video’s Fallout is set in the year 2296, fifteen years after the events of Fallout: New Vegas. And while that game ends with a player deciding who should rule New Vegas, there are several ways for Mr. House to have survived.
According to Bethesda director Todd Howard, everything that happens in Fallout is completely canon to the lore of the video games. He later revealed that several plot points from the TV show were rewritten to avoid clashes with plans for future Fallout games.
“Unlike fellow post-apocalyptic shows The Last Of Us and The Walking Dead, Fallout is a dark comedy that finds laughter in ludicrously terrible situations,” NME wrote in a review of the series.
In other news, Roblox has confirmed a new collaboration with iconic rock group The Rolling Stones.
