Hardy, who stars in Jeff Nichols’ new movie The Bikeriders, alongside Austin Butler and Jodie Comer, spoke in a recent interview about the prequel to his 2015 movie, Mad Max: Fury Road.

Describing his own experience on Fury Road as “great”, the Peaky Blinders star said (via Variety): “ It absolutely was one of the most important things that ever happened to me in my career, ever. I’m grateful for that.”

He continued, praising the film’s creator, saying: “I think George Miller is a genius, and the whole crew with everybody was amazing. I learned an awful lot on that film.”

However, Hardy admitted that he has not yet seen the prequel to Fury Road, which was released in May. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is set about 20 years before the events of Fury Road.

“I’m sure that Furiosa will be a tremendous success, as rightly George, Anya and Chris well deserve,” shared Hardy.

“I’m a huge Mad Max fan, and Fury Road fan and Furiosa fan. I haven’t seen the film,” he added. “But I know it’s bound to be special because it’s come from George.”

In a five-star review, NME described the film as “brilliant and unmissable,” and “another extraordinary blockbuster juggernaut that in some sequences somehow excels even its predecessor, arresting viewers with its booming, utterly immersive world of grease, dust, motorbikes and carnage.”

In other news, Hardy recently shared how his teenage son often critiques his acting work.
