Partinico Rose’s newly released second studio album, Undeclinable Ways, weaves a tale of despair, longing, resilience, and hope. With passionate vocals and evocative guitar work by Vincenzo Cannizzo, complemented by Massimo Russo’s relentless bass, and Carlo Schembari’s deft command of drums and synth, this Sicilian trio weaves an enchanting array of alternative anthems. Each track unfurls like a chapter in a timeless story, from brooding introspection to fervent crescendos, navigating the turbulent seas of modern existence with a touch of whimsy and profound insight.

Pitiful End opens the album with a flood of melancholic reverie, setting the stage for what’s to come. Prisoners ensnares listeners in its grip with a pulsating bassline and an unyielding rhythm that captures the essence of entrapment and frustration. Then, Crazy Shard ignites with fierce guitar riffs and an infectious beat, a wildfire in the midst of the storm.

Runaround explores the chaotic dance of contemporary life, a poignant meditation on the endless pursuit of meaning. The introspective Pettiness provides a serene interlude, its haunting cello solo, courtesy of Martina Monaca, echoing like a ghost in the night.

As the album progresses, the stakes rise with The Hard Competition, a sharp and humorous examination of ambition and rivalry. Tragedy of Style merges synths and rock elements to deliver a biting critique of societal norms, a mirror reflecting our own pretensions.

The title track, Undeclinable Ways, stands as a defiant anthem of individuality and resistance, while Rebuild glimmers with the promise of recovery and resilience, closing the album on a hopeful note.

In Unrequited Love, the pain of one-sided affection is laid bare, its sorrowful weight accentuated by the cello’s mournful sigh. The final track, Enter, leaves the listener in a contemplative state, ending on a note of quiet hope and reflection. Throughout Undeclinable Ways, Partinico Rose displays their artistic evolution, merging potent lyrics with dynamic instrumentals to create a captivating symphony of sound and emotion.

Undeclinable Ways is out now via Riot Records. Listen to the album, or order here to go directly to their Bandcamp.
