Vengaboys Announce ‘The Greatest Hits Collection (We Like To Party!)’

Vengaboys have announced a new greatest hits album, The Greatest Hits Collection (We Like To Party!). The career-spanning compilation marks the dance group’s 25th anniversary, and features songs like “Shalala Lala,” Up & Down,” and “Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!” The 14-track LP is available worldwide July 12, and includes a bonus Megamix on the CD edition.

Founded in 1996 by the DJ duo Danski and Delmundo, Vengaboys released their first two singles “Parada de Tettas” and “To Brazil!” in 1997 to moderate success in their native Netherlands. But the group evolved towards their future as major Eurodance hitmakers with the breakout single “Up & Down,” which catapulted the group to global notoriety and introduced them to the U.S. market. Their follow-up single “We Like To Party! (The Vengabus)” became their first charting hit in the U.S. Vengaboys’ debut album “Greatest Hits!” achieved gold status stateside, and also earned Vengaboys a nomination at the MTV Music & Video Awards in 1999, for Best Breakthrough of the Year. The group had had previously climbed to No. 1 on European and U.K. charts with the singles “Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!” (which would see a resurgence in popularity on TikTok decades later) and “We’re Going To Ibiza!”

Vengaboys ended their original run in 2001 with the track “Forever as One,” but returned in 2007 with a special guest: Perez Hilton. The comeback song “Rocket to Uranus – Hitradio With Perez” ushered in the new era for the group, which included the 2014 holiday album Xmas Party Album. Today, the group’s current lineup—Kim Sasabone, Denise Post-Van Rijswijk, Robin Pors, and Donny Latupeirissa—still perform together regularly on their “Non-stop World Tour.” This summer’s schedule will include stops in Denmark, Spain, and Finland.
