BABYMONSTER’s Main Vocalist Alarms Fans With Revelation Of Serious Injury

BABYMONSTER just made their official debut but they’re already considered some of the best vocalists in this generation of K-Pop.

Among them, Rami is known among fans as their main vocalist. She even went viral during their very first appearance on a music show for her incredible live vocals when singing a snippet of “SHEESH.”

To everyone’s shock, it was revealed in a new “Dance Practice Behind” video that she was actually sick just a little while ago. She apparently went to the hospital in the middle of their dance practice sessions due to pneumothorax.

BABYMONSTER: Were you hospitalized? Huh? What’s the problem?

Rami: Pneumothorax…

Rami explained that the air in her lungs leaked out, causing her notable pain while dancing. It is a condition characterized by air leaking into the space between one’s lung and chest wall, causing it to collapse either partially or fully.

It’s like…the air leaks out of the lung…

The members knew immediately that it was a serious matter. Rami added that she was close to being in an even worse position.

If it had been a little worse, they say I might have collapsed.

Though she was in pain, her main concern was that she was holding back the rest of the members as they had to stop rehearsals for a week while she recovered. She felt terrible that she halted their progress to allow her to rest.

I started feeling a bit of pain in my lungs while dancing, So I went to the hospital. Since I suddenly dropped out from the practice, I felt so sorry to the members.

Though Rami was still not healed a week after, she still did her best to listen closely and follow along to the dance practice.

Fans were understandably upset. Some shared their own personal experiences with pneumothorax, saying their family members were severely impacted by it.

This was really a serious problem, my aunt had a pneumothorax last year and she had to do a big operation, now she can’t practice or do anything tiring, if anything went wrong, Rami’s career as an idol may have ended before even started pic.twitter.com/cfAVvRYd4B

They noted that it is a serious injury that should not be taken lightly. They hoped that she received the best medical attention possible to recover quickly.

I can’t stop searching and I had to ask my bff who’s in Medschool rn. Sadly you cannot get rid of this right away. But if the pneumothorax is small and received treatment right away it may heal for weeks only. I hope they always monitor RAMI. pic.twitter.com/2TvgQURdTH

Pneumothorax is a serious condition. I’m just glad she went to the hospital early, received treatment, and took her time to recover; otherwise, she might have collapsed. You’ve worked hard, Rami. Be healthy, and we love you! pic.twitter.com/wfnx6AoItg

Rami had pneumothorax while preparing for Sheesh? Omg that’s serious and she most likely needed a chest tube or surgery for that… and the way she went back to practice after a week… my girl you are so strong but please put your health first before anything

Thankfully, Rami updated fans that she is now “completely fine,” promising to take better care of herself moving forward.

She is the sweetest!
She apologizes to US for being sick and promises to never get sick again
You don’t have to apologize for anything!
