IU was interviewed by her mother in the latest video on her YouTube channel. It was a heartfelt and vulnerable 21-minute exchange where they opened up about various topics related to their relationship.
At one point, IU even asked her mother, “When was the time you hated me the most?”
Before her mother could answer, the singer made her own guess. She suggested that her honesty likely caused some rife between them.

This, however, was not her main answer. IU’s mother’s biggest concern when it comes to her daughter is whenever her strong personality is aimed at her dad. Their relationship is such that the singer could be sweet with him one second then teasing him the next.
I wish…when it seems like you and your dad are getting along, you always steamroll over your dad.

Knowing that her mother did not truly “hate” this about her, IU couldn’t help but joke that making fun of her dad is one of her favorite things to do.

Her mother acknowledged that there are no hard feelings between the two. She said affectionately that they are just like one another whenever they make sure to make up after a fight.
