RIIZE Suddenly Retracts Light Stick Design After Negative Feedback

The design was faced with criticism as many mocked the design.

Although the lightstick was probably meant to reflect an upside-down “7” sign to represent the group, fans were not happy with it. Many took to bitter humor to express their dissatisfaction.

Two days after the initial teaser, the original design tweet was erased. A new notice was tweeted out on March 6, 2024. The team will be revisiting the drawing board and announced that design and details were to come. The light stick will be officially released in April 2024.

This is one of the rare times that RIIZE’s team has provided such swift feedback, but not the first. In September 2023, the group announced their fan club name to be “SUNZ” on September 4. Many found that it could possibly be associated with the “Rising Sun” symbol, a highly offensive symbol in South Korea due to its ties with the Japanese occupation. Due to an overwhelming outpour of negative feedback, they announced a change to “BRIIZE” two days later. You can read more about it below.
