BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Stuns In New Pictures As The First Musician Face Of “Self-Portrait”

BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo has been announced as the new face of Self-Portrait, marking a series of significant firsts for both the K-Pop superstar and the London-based fashion house.

This collaboration places Jisoo among the ranks of previous Self-Portrait muses such as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid, and Bella Hadid, yet stands out as the brand’s first venture with a musician leading its accessible line since its inception in 2013.

Additionally, this campaign represents Jisoo’s first foray into contemporary fashion, following the announcement of her own label and agency, Blissoo, in February.

Self-Portrait’s founder and creative director, Han Chong, praised Jisoo in a press release, highlighting the campaign’s aim to showcase “her beauty, both inside and out.

The partnership was unveiled through an exclusive photo of Jisoo donning a striking blue dress, captured in South Korea by renowned photographer Yoon Ji Yong. Yoon — known for his work on Jisoo’s ME solo album cover, her 2023 ELLE Korea feature, and other high-profile K-Pop stars — brings his distinctive visual storytelling to this campaign.

Chong’s connection with Jisoo dates back to BLACKPINK’s debut in 2016, fostering a relationship built on mutual admiration and creative collaboration. The choice of Jisoo for this campaign aligns with the brand’s ethos of authenticity and modern portraiture, aiming to capture Jisoo in a phase of personal and artistic growth.

This collaboration is especially timely, considering Jisoo’s indie move and her continued involvement with BLACKPINK under a renewed contract with YG Entertainment.

The collection Jisoo showcases features an array of stunning pieces, including a pale-pink sequin minidress with black trim, an orange and pink rhinestone embellished minidress, and the highlighted blue minidress with flower embellishments. These items — resonating with Jisoo’s personal style and artistic flair — are now available globally online, in Self-Portrait stores, and through its international network of retailers.

As Jisoo steps into this new chapter, her collaboration with Self-Portrait not only cements her status as a fashion icon but also paves the way for more musicians to embrace the world of contemporary fashion.
