“The Chairman Sexually Harassed My Daughter”: Dad Threatens To Blow Up Building To Get Revenge

A dad attempted to get revenge on behalf of his daughter, who suffered sexual harassment.

On February 23, Hankyung reported that Moon (57) threatened to blow everyone up as he left twenty butane gas canisters at a Saemaul Geumgo building in Dongdaemun-gu. The police stopped him, though.

It was revealed that Moon had threatened such extreme actions due to his daughter’s mistreatment. Before this, he visited the campaign office of Lee Myung, a prospective candidate for the Jung-gu district in Seoul, on February 16. Moon explained, “The chairman of Saemaul Geumgo sexually harassed my daughter, and everyone is trying to ignore it.”

Saemaul Geumgo | Yonhap News Moon was contacted the next day by the campaign office manager. Still, Moon was intoxicated and angry.

Moon visited the Saemaul Geumgo building, intending to blow it up, as twenty butane gas cylinders were found. Thankfully, no customers were present, so there were no casualties.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor also released a statement regarding the sexual harassment case. An official investigation has been initiated.

We decided to launch an official investigation because the high probability of sexual harassment in the workplace under the Gender Equality Act was recognized when looking at the victim interview, CCTV video, and interviews with the chairman.
