Cosmetic Surgeon Gets Plastic Surgery To Grow 10cm Taller

A Japanese man underwent plastic surgery to grow his height. He was 167cm (5′ 47) before the surgery but grew 10cm (‘ 32) to become 177cm (5’ 8). He claimed that after the surgery, his popularity amongst the opposite gender surged drastically.

Left: Before, Right: After.

The surgery was done in Armenia and cost him around ₩44.2 million KRW (about $33,100 USD). The whopping sum was affordable as he was a cosmetic surgeon himself. The surgery took place around 5 years ago, and he recently came on a Japanese variety show to talk about it. In 2024, he is now fully healed. The surgery was done by cutting the bones in two places. They severed the bone in his mid-thigh and mid-calve to insert metal tools to help expand the leg.

Surgery process.

At 31-years-old, he is very satisfied with the surgery. The surgery comes with its own risks. If one fails at the rehabilitation stage, they may not be able to walk for the rest of their lives.

In a video created by the hospital, he explains the full process of surgery and recovery. Post-operation, he has to manually lengthen the metal structures on his legs to help the growth. He was able to grow his leg by 5cm per area, totalling 10cm in height. You can watch his story below.
