More significantly, the concert will have the group in Japan on May 26, the 9-year anniversary of the group’s debut. Reaction to the announcement was fast and furious from Korean fans, as “Japanese Idols” and “Seventeen Oppas” trended on Twitter.

Fans expressed their displeasure at the fact that SEVENTEEN, who are incredibly popular in Japan, would be in the country for the anniversary of their debut. Many Korean fans claimed that they were being ignored and that Pledis was prioritizing Japanese fans over them.

If you are going to be in Japan on your debut date, just be Japanese idols.

Wow, Japanese idols (SEVENTEEN) are having their encore concert in Incheon! Their Korean concert looks crazy.

한국 k-pop이야 pic.twitter.com/ut4zfh7ZQs

To be honest, this is too much. Korean Carats were upset when they held their 8-year anniversary concert in Japan, and now they are holding their 9-year anniversary encore concert in Japan, too? I can understand the group performing in another country, but it’s disappointing that they are having their 9-year anniversary concert in Japan… Are our boys Japanese idols? They are K-Pop idols.

세븐틴 그냥 일본 아이돌해라, 이럴거면 케이팝 왜 붙이냐 pic.twitter.com/wFpisv9Ss2

HYBE, you f@ckers, if you hold your concert in Incheon, how are Carats, who don’t live in Seoul, supposed to attend? Even worse, does it make sense for a K-Pop group to hold a concert in Japan on their anniversary? Are SEVENTEEN J-Pop idols? For some Carats, going to Seoul would cost over ₩1.00 million KRW (about $748 USD), but Incheon? Might as well tell us not to come. Hey, to be honest, if you hold a concert in a stadium with 30,000 people, fans won’t be able to see their faces. Also, if you’re holding the Korean concert in March, that is going to be when we have to study for mid-terms. Are you f@ckers telling students not to come?
SEVENTEEN should just be Japanese idols. If you’re going to do this, why are you calling yourself K-Pop?

인천 앙콘 줬으니까 그만이라고 생각해? pic.twitter.com/PkoSzCLMHM

Why are they having their 9-year anniversary in Japan? Pledis is really stupid. They aren’t Japanese idols, do they have to be in Japan on their debut date? Do you even care about Korean fans? Do you still think we are crying over nothing? Do you think that because you are holding an encore concert in Incheon, we shouldn’t be upset?

세븐틴은 일본아이돌인가요?
앙콘 좋지 근데 장소가 에바지않나요
팔콘만 1년을하고 일본 전국투어수준으로 해놓고서 또 오사카?

Are SEVENTEEN members Japanese idols? An encore concert is great, but you guys picked the wrong location. You guys had SEVENTEEN touring in Japan for the majority of a year, and now you are sending them to Osaka again? HYBE, meet me outside.
