What initially inspired you to pursue a career in music, and how did your journey into the industry begin?
Lil Rob1K: Just being around friends that we’re doing music. It first started with like freestyling with the homies then I met Rogue in like 2017 and that’s when I recorded my first song with him it was called “Never Trip” then I dabbled with music up till bout 9 months ago that’s when I started taking it serious.
Could you elaborate on the unique elements that define your musical style, particularly how you’ve developed it over time?
Lil Rob1K: All of my music is made impromptu, so nothing is written beforehand. I just go to the studio hop in the booth and let my emotions flow.
You’ve mentioned being influenced by artists like Kodak Black, FETTIBOI 1K, and No Cap. How have these influences shaped your music, and what aspects have you incorporated into your own unique sound?
Lil Rob1K: Those are just people I listen to. Fettyboi that’s my brother. He’s really the one who got me started and really inspired me to do music. I haven’t really incorporated anything from their music specifically, to be honest. But they do inspire me to keep going.
What do you consider your greatest strengths as a musician and artist? How do these strengths manifest in your work?
Lil Rob1K: My work ethic, and the fact I can just get in the booth and get it done.
What role do you believe location or environment plays in influencing your music? How has living in Florida impacted your creative process?
Lil Rob1K: I been back and forth from Tennessee and Florida a few years now but it hasn’t really been a factor.
Can you walk us through your approach to crafting lyrics and producing music? Are these rituals you perform by yourself or do you collaborate with outside sources?
Lil Rob1K: I just get in the booth and start rapping I don’t really have any rituals if I like the beat I just get in there and do some shit. Might smoke a lil in between but that’s about it.
Do you write a song with current musical trends, formulas or listener satisfaction in mind, or do you simply focus on your own personal vision and trust that people will empathize and vibe with your sound?
Lil Rob1K: I just get in there and do my own thing. If people resonate with my vibe, then cool.
Are there any collaborations or artists you aspire to work with in the future?
Lil Rob1K: I mean yeah Kodak, No Cap, Rylo to name a few. But, I’m always down for a collab with a dope artist.
What has been the most difficult thing you have had to endure in your life or music career so far, and how did you overcome that event?
Lil Rob1K: Definitely marketing. I’m still learning, but I’ve been working with No Sleep: The Label and will be discussing an artist developmental deal in the very near future.
On the contrary, what would you consider a successful, proud or significant point in your life or music career so far?
Lil Rob1K: I’m just getting started, to be honest. But, I’ll be releasing my debut music video “Bet.” on YouTube on Friday, January 26, 2024. I’m definitely proud of it, so be sure to check the video out leave a like and a few comments before it drops.
