Giant Rooks say of “Pink Skies”: “Pink Skies” is a California fever dream of a love story and probably the most light-hearted song on the album. It was so much fun to write and produce, it’s also the first song we’ve ever done that’s entirely riff based, with this one riff from guitar and bass playing through the whole song.

The song is another step on the journey towards the band’s second album. How Have You Been? will be released on February 2, 2024 and promises a wealth of memorable pop moments, with its unmistakable Rooks sound, catchy melodies, polished lyrics and sophisticated songwriting.

A lot has has happened to Giant Rooks since the release of their debut album, Rookery. That record reached number 3 in the album charts and amassed over 200 million streams in 2020, picking up awards and selling out tours across Germany and all over Europe. Things then quieted down and the band concentrated on writing new material and on their live shows.

On How Have You Been? Giant Rooks sum up the last few years in 14 songs. In the meantime, to accompany the release of their new single, the band have started their tour in Europe in January, where “Pink Skies” and other album songs will be played live for the first time.

In February the tour will continue with stops in Europe, UK and North America. Further information about all Giant Rooks’ upcoming dates can be found at the band’s official website.
