Yet, it seems like netizens have noticed one huge “red flag” amongst the female contestants compared to previous seasons.

One of the first controversial scenes features Gyu Ri and her fellow female contestants, whether it was not replying to Hye Seon‘s compliment to her…

Or when Gyu Ri then explained that she thought she was “number one” when it came to the female contestants.

After that scene and other instances of seeing the interactions between the female contestants, one OP online shared the difference between this season’s contestants compared to the past. In the post, they believe that the women are “putting each other down” more than they’ve ever seen.

After the post was shared on Reddit, netizens had their own thoughts on the female contestants. While many explained that it was probably just the editing from the producers to create more drama, others just found it weird that they were so focused on looks and trying to “one-up” each other.

Even after the post was shared, this was seen as the fourth episode was released. In the episode, the two islands come together, and the female contestants seem to emphasize the differences between them, always finding ways to describe themselves as superior.

Yet, it seems like the “red flags” might be wearing away, and it’s all because of contestant Lee Gwan Hee.

In episode 5, the contestant received heat after his “disrespectful” behavior towards the female contestants, referring to them as “The three women are her, her, and her.” Along with netizens, the contestants and hosts were shocked, especially when he repeated it with “Those two and this one.”

The day after Gwan Hee’s incredible blunder, the women were all sat chatting and they seemed to join together in their views about what he said. Each time one shared their own thoughts, the others were there to back them up with another opinion.

It was so intense that the hosts even joked that they didn’t want Gwan Hee to watch the episode.

While it will be interesting to see whether the women continue to grow with their bond, many hope that “Girl Code” becomes a thing amongst the contestants.
