The HYBE Idols That Stood Out The Most As Trainees, According To The Training And Development Team

Despite all the groups being from different sub-labels, they all went through training in different ways to become the idols they are now. It’s no secret that being a trainee is tough, with strict schedules and rigorous exercises to prepare them for the world of K-Pop.

While not everyone can make it through to debut, some idols instantly take to the trainee life. Recently, members of HYBE’s “Training and Development” team shared some information about their department and idols during their trainee periods.

During one of the videos, the staff from the T&R department shared the idols that just had it from the very beginning. It wasn’t surprising that one of the first choices was the “Legendary” trainee TXT‘s Yeonjun, who was described as being “Born with talent.”

ENHYPEN‘s Ni-Ki was also picked, and he was shown showcasing his unreal dancing skills.

When it came to female idols, LE SSERAFIM’s Yunjin was chosen by one of the staff.

It was explained that because Yunjin already had the singing and dancing skills, along with the drive to succeed, they adapted the lessons and training she needed.

ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon also made an impact by managing to move from the strictness of being a professional figure skater to the difference in style needed for K-Pop.

When it came to BTS, the member chosen to stand out most as a trainee was Jimin.

It was explained that Jimin was always very strict on pushing himself, to the point that even those on the training team thought he was being “harsh.”

Despite being a dancer, it was pointed out that Jimin had to change a lot of habits he had learned while training to adapt it to the more powerful moves expected from K-Pop idols. He was given this task for his monthly evaluation and shocked staff with how much he had improved.

If Jimin’s role as a trainee wasn’t impactful enough, in the first HYBE video, RM explained how vital the idol is. When chatting with Shin Seon Jeong, the Director of HYBE Trainee Education, he explained that without her pushing for Jimin to debut with BTS, it would’ve been a “disaster.”

The labels within HYBE have always focused on training idols in the best way to allow their talent to shine. Yet, it seems like amongst the hundreds of trainees the staff have seen over the years, these have stood out the most.
