GOT7 debuted in 2014 under JYP Entertainment and remained there until their contracts expired in 2021. In the final years approaching their departure, fans and netizens called out JYP Entertainment on multiple occasions.
Some issues included a lack of domestic and international promotions, interference with self-produced songs, and a lack of social media presence.
All these things can play into a song’s reception and success, and many fans blamed JYP for not properly promoting the group.

BamBam’s words about GOT7’s tracks after “Lullaby” reignited fans’ anger, leading many to “curse” the company.
i swear jyp are going to pay for making the sevens have low self esteem bc of their sabotage to them. they have amazing music that was ahead of their time, but they dropped the ball with them. it’s always fuck jyp in my house. https://t.co/9bHz8LncOi

I hate that they see it this way because every album after these were masterpieces they got better and better and grew musically, but the jype sabotage was strong https://t.co/868VlogQXF
