On January 27, 2023, MOMLAND’s agency MLD Entertainment announced that all the group members had decided to part ways with them following the expiry of their exclusive contracts.
Hello, this is MLD Entertainment.
First of all, we sincerely thank the fans who cherish and support MOMOLAND.
After a lengthy discussion with MOMOLAND (Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy), we respected each other’s opinions and agreed to terminate the exclusive contract upon expiration of the contract period.
We express our deep gratitude to MOMOLAND who has been with us for a long time, and we will sincerely wish the best for the members’ future endeavors.
We would like to ask fans to show unchanging love and support to the six members who are about to start anew.
Thank you.

Then, a month later, the members individually posted a letter on their Instagram accounts, announcing that they had decided to pursue solo endeavors. However, they mentioned that MOMOLAND “will always be a team.”

However, since then, the members have not participated in any group activities, prompting fans to conclude that they have disbanded. But according to JooE, that’s not the case.

On December 12, JooE appeared on E Channel & Channel S’s Noldeon Unnie, along with other artists like Jewelry’s Lee Ji Hyun and Wonder Girls’ Yubin. During their conversations, the topic of MOMOLAND’s career came up, and JooE gave a brutally honest view of her financial situation as a part of the group.
We got our first payments after two years. My parents thought we’d continue to earn well, so they bought a foreign-brand car. But we were hit with COVID-19 right after, and now we might have to sell the car off.

But now, as she is handling all her schedules alone without any management agency, JooE said it was a better arrangement since she didn’t have to share any profits with others. Then she made a shocking statement saying, “MOMOLAND did not disband, but people think we already disbanded.”
The singer revealed an exciting new update about the group.
We are going to have an overseas fanmeeting.

JooE’s words come as exciting news for fans who have been hoping to see all the members together once again!
