The netizens then stated their concern and publicly asked that laws be put in place to prevent the abuse of celebrities and their likeness.

You can tell it’s fake for now, but I think the situation will soon become serious. I think there needs to be laws put in place regarding this. I heard that there are clips of them going viral. Clips of the two are all fake.

Netizens reacted to the post with concern. Many stated that laws prohibiting the abuse of deepfakes are necessary, considering how fast artificial intelligence has been advancing.

“Both look so real…” “That’s chilling…” “Fans will know that’s fake but it would fool muggles (non-fans).” “I saw Hollywood celebrity deepfakes, and maybe it’s because I don’t know them well but I would have thought they were real if no one told me.” “Oh my…” “If you just glance at them, you wouldn’t know they were deepfakes… That’s scary.” “Although the clips look awkward now, they are going to look scary real in the future.” Wow, seriously… This is so strange…” “Wow, this is scary.” “I bet they are going to scam people by making an AI clip with an AI voice.
